Story on the BBC website today about Microsoft’s plans to release a PC with a simple interface aimed specifically at older users. Full story here.
I’m in favour of it, the more people online the better, especially as being PC-literate is even more essential than being able to program the VCR. Especially when you can download what you want to watch instead of being locked into scheduled airtime. Unless you’re into your soaps that is. Unfortunately torrenting and the Corries/Eastenders of this world are just not meant to be friends.

One would certainly hope so. Personally I’ll settle for my Mom being able to send an e-mail unaided. If this idea can reach only one person, preferably in my family tree, then it will have worked.
